On Dec. 17, Wang Yongli, the president of Lanxess in Greater China, told in a Lanxess medium meeting that Lanxess' strategic recombination had entered the fourth phase, i.e. strategic acquisition phase; and the first action was to buy the chromic tanning chemistry business of the Dow Chemical Company in South Africa. In addition, Dr. He Deman, the chairman of management board of Lanxess Group told that Lanxess had interest in purchasing some business of Bayer Material and Degussa Group.
To purchase Dow Chemical's chromic tanning chemistry business in South Africa will be the first acquisition of Lanxess in its history, and the acquisition will intensity Lanxess' core business leather chemicals and own the state-of-the-art chromic tanning material process and equipment, so as to make a complete industrial chain from chrome ore to chromic tanning material and hereby strengthen its benefiting ability. |
