According to the Platts Petchem Report, Masahiro Yoneyama, the president of Access Intelligence indicated in Asia International Petrochemical Conference in Bangkok that Asia would not be short of propylene until 2015, and the diversification of propylene supply was the valuable approach to solve this problem.
The global demand of ethylene will increase at a speed of 47 million tons/year in the future 10 years while the productive capacity will rise only 40 million tons/year. Furthermore, Asia will see insufficiency of butadiene supply with a gap about 1.60 million tons/year. |
