According to the latest data publicized by American Plastics Council (APC), the American market saw demand decrease of PE, PP, PS and PVC resins in the first three quarters, with a reduction of 0.2% over the same period of the last year, i.e. 31.21 million tons; and the output increased by 3.5%, i.e. 28.76 million tons.
APC announced that other plastic resins also saw slipping sales volume except for PE in this first three quarters in USA. Of them, PP decreased by 0.6%, down to 6.26 million tons; PS by 2%, down to 2.17 million tons; PVC by 1.2%, down to 5.31 million tons. Market observers say the gliding sales of the first three quarters is mainly caused by the sharp reduction of sales volume in September, and the four kinds of main plastic resins saw small rise of 0.6% in the first eight months over the same period of the previous year. In the first three quarters, the four kinds of plastic resin all see rising output. Of them, PE increased by 5.5%, PP and PVC both 2% and PS about 1%. |
